William Harris Lipschultz Obituary

Scottsdale, AZ - With deep love and gratitude, the family of William Harris Lipschultz of Scottsdale, Arizona and formerly of St. Paul, MN, announces his passing on October 5, 2025, on the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy — fitting for a man who proudly served four years during the Korean War.

Born March 13, 1930, Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ruth; and by his beloved wife, Sybil, all of blessed memory. He is survived by his children, Brian (Sari), Marc (Jennifer), and Debbie (Chad) Goldenberg; grandchildren, Robyn, Lane, Andrew, Jack, Charles, Henry, Ruth, and Rose; special friend, Marcia Levine; devoted caregivers, Reubell and Lisa Pajibo; and many relatives.

Bill lived life to the fullest — with humor, heart, and an unshakable optimism. He was quick with a smile, and when asked how he was doing, his trademark reply was always: "If I was any better, I couldn't stand it." Even in difficult times, he meant it.

He relished his time spent at White Bear Lake. It was his happy place. He enjoyed many activities, including golf, squash, skiing, Rotary meetings, or just fixing things around the house - actually anyone's house for that matter! Bill always took satisfaction in a good day's work and was widely respected as an executive with Stone Container Corporation and the Otto Bremer Trust. His commitment as a volunteer and donor to Jewish causes were priorities throughout his whole life.

But above all, he loved being with his family. He kvelled in the amazing accomplishments of his eight grandchildren. Over the years, Bill could be found at every sporting event, concert, show, awards ceremony, graduation, or just dining together.
