William "Bill" Joseph Frank, age 89, passed peacefully in St Louis Park, MN, on January 17, 2024. He was surrounded by his family who loved him very much. He was born February 15, 1934 in Madison, South Dakota to Leo and Ethelyn Frank. He married the love of his life Sharon Johnson Frank on August 21, 1954. They were blessed with three sons, Stephen, Greg and Eric. Bill was a dedicated businessman and passionate about the fish and seafood industry, he served nearly fifty years in various capacities for the National Fisheries Institute including as President. Bill's business interests included Franks Frozen Foods, Juhl Brokerage Inc., WJF International, and Morey's Seafood International. He was regarded as having integrity in all his actions in life, believing that principles and honesty were of the utmost importance. Bill and Sharon enjoyed splitting their time between Wayzata, MN, "The Lake" Brainerd, MN and Palm Desert, CA. Together they also explored and experienced the world. In the summer, Bill could be found reading on the porch of their East Pointe home, with the breeze off the lake. He was a culinary expert and handy chef in the kitchen, looking for any reason to scoop ice cream. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, The Nine Holers, and pheasant and waterfowl hunting with his family, often around his hometown of Madison. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, sons, Steve (Ellen), Greg (Kris), and Eric (Shari Sterling). Grandchildren, Elsye (Paul) Burton, Will (Kiley) Frank, Erin (Zach) Bouma, Bryan (Jen) Frank, Lauren (Kyle) McNab, Sierra Sterling, Selena Sterling (fiancé Cavanagh Murphy), and Evan Sterling. Great-grandchildren, Cabi and Franki Burton, Gunnar and Ellie Frank, Maggie and Calvin Bouma, Carter, Maren and Tyson Frank, and Teagan McNab. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Johnson and Nancy Charlson, sister-in-law Lynn Paulson, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A celebration of life service will be held at Wayzata Community Church at 3 o'clock Thursday, January 25, 2024 with a visitation the hour before and a social following. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the American Diabetes Association.
