Plymouth, MN - Wayne Arthur Evenson, 76 of Plymouth, MN, formerly Coon Rapids, MN, died unexpectedly March 15, 2026. He is preceded in death by parents George and Bessie Evenson and brother Donald. Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years Theresa, sister Deloris Simpson (Cliff) and brother James Evenson (Barb), son Nathan Evenson (Michelle), daughter Alicia Andersen (Wade), grandchildren Olivia and Madison Andersen, Nitalia Vescio Evenson, and great grandson Kaldur'ahm Alexander and many loving relatives and friends.

Wayne was born in Minneapolis, Nov. 5, 1949. He attended Robbinsdale Cooper High School where he found his love of theatre. He later graduated from St. Cloud State University where he was a theatre student on scholarship and met Theresa.

Wayne had a prolific career as a professional actor gracing the stages at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre where he was cast in Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and Guys and Dolls, among other shows. He enjoyed time at the Mixed Blood Theatre where he was part of a touring version of The Boys Next Door. Wayne was also fortunate to be cast in The Gutherie's production of HIs Girl Friday with Angel Basset and Courtney B. Vance, as well as several other productions at the renowned theatre. He was a member of SAG-AFTRA, Equity, Lip Service and before that he was with Creative Casting. Wayne was also fortunate enough to be cast in a variety of films including Iron Will and Grumpier Old Men.

Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather who showed up for his family every chance he got. He was there at his son's high school wrestling matches and football games, and encouraged his daughter's interests in speech & debate as well as dance and gymnastics. He inspired his grandchildren to reach beyond their dreams and as result, Olivia is pursuing an education in the medical field, Madison is a popular Tik-tok influencer and Nitalia is currently working toward a BA in theatre at the University of Minnesota - just like her grandpa. Wayne was an avid fisherman who loved to spend time on Wilkins Lake in Aitkin and all around the Twin Cities with his fishing buddies, many of whom he taught the skill of fishing to.
