Eden Prairie, MN - Wanda Lee Toohey, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at Prairie Bluffs Senior Living in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with her 3 children by her side.

Wanda was born on December 6, 1946, in Amenia, North Dakota, to Raymond and Wilma Caswell. She grew up in a large and loving family that remained an important part of her life.

On February 2, 1968, Wanda married John Toohey. Together they welcomed three children: Joseph John Toohey, Mary Marguerite Toohey, and Thomas John Toohey. Though Wanda and John divorced in 1988, her devotion to her children and family never wavered.

In June of 1968, Wanda owned and operated a wig salon before choosing to become a stay-at-home mother to raise her three children. Her entrepreneurial spirit later led her to own and operate three Minnesota restaurants: Flyers Bar and Deli at the HHH Charter Terminal in Bloomington, Toohey's Bar and Grill in Burnsville, and Toohey's Roadside Grill in Savage. Wanda was a gifted restaurateur who found joy in hospitality. She loved feeding family, friends, and customers alike, and nothing made her happier than serving a wonderful meal.

An exceptional cook and baker, Wanda was especially known for her cookies, which she lovingly made for her grandchildren, neighbors, and friends. Her kitchen was always a place of warmth and welcome. She was also very creative and crafty, rarely without a project in progress.

Wanda is survived by her children: Joseph (Joe) Toohey; Mary Toohey; and Thomas (Jenny Ryden) Toohey. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Kinley and Corinne Toohey; Zachary, Jacob and Reilly Toohey; and Jack Toohey. She is also survived by her brothers Don, Harold (Trish), and Earl (Lois) Caswell; her sister Marian Boehner; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Wilma Caswell; her brother Bill Caswell; and her sisters Phyllis Banker and Joanne Boehner.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 9th at All Saints Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville, Minnesota 55044, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will follow the Mass.

Burial will take place at a later date.

Wanda will be remembered for her strong work ethic, generous heart, creativity, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the meals shared, the traditions continued, and the many lives she touched.
