Fridley, MN - Vicki Lee Maternowsky, Born on September 27, 1953, in St. Paul, MN, Vicki's laughter-filled journey came to a peaceful end on February 2, 2026, in Fridley, MN. Vicki's early years were spent in the halls of Columbia Heights High School and working at her father's drug store "Hanson Drugs" where she was known for her quick wit and the kind of loving mischief that only a future court administrator could get away with. After graduation and meeting the love of her life, Dennis Maternowsky, she embarked on a remarkable 31-year career in the Criminal Division of Court Administration for Anoka County. There, she became the unofficial "court jester." As a mother to Jeff (Kim) and Megan (Terry), Vicki was the matriarch of a family that inherited her humor and warmth. Her grandchildren, Ian and Alexis, will forever cherish memories of their grandma's funny stories and the intelligent advice that often came disguised as a joke. Vicki's love for her flowers and plants was legendary. From May each year, she tended to her garden with the dedication of a stand-up comic working on their set. And when she got sick and tired of taking care of them, she'd say, "I'm letting the weeds grow; they're the only plants that listen to me." Describing Vicki is easy: funny, intelligent, loving. Vicki Lee Maternowsky's final curtain call may have come, but the encore of her influence will resonate in the laughter and love she left behind. Celebration of life will be held on February 10, from 5pm-8pm, at the Coon Rapids VFW Post 9625, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids MN 55433.
