Vada Ruth Ewald (Harrison) Obituary
Shakopee - 86, of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. Born in Harriman, Tennessee on June 25, 1939, Vada was a bright light with an entrepreneurial spirit. A self-taught monogrammer, she founded and built a thriving monogram business that grew through a strong reputation and word-of-mouth referrals. She invented the "SlingEZ," a thoughtfully engineered sling designed to make mattress-moving easy. It was an idea inspired by her 20 years of sales experience at Room & Board - consulting customers at the Edina store, in the Outlet and at Shop from Home. Vada coached girl's youth basketball and played a skilled game of golf winning tournaments into her senior years. She was an active volunteer and fondly talked about preparing food donations for VEAP. The unwavering thread that pulled through the fabric of Vada's life was family. She was proud to be a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, sister and aunt. Vada was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years who adored her, Robert C. Ewald, Sr.; her parents, Emma and Mose Harrison; her sisters, Vern Spriggs and Shirley Saxton and brothers, James, Edward, Theodore and Wayne. Vada is survived by her daughter, Linda Ewald and her children, Brandon (Cody), Nikolas and Ethan Osborne; her daughter, Michelle Ewald and her children, Austin (Megan) and Madison Lommen; her daughter, Jennifer Bolte (John) and their children, Jasmin and Keoni; and her son, Robert C. Ewald, Jr. In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, the family requests donations be made to VEAP at veap.org. A celebration of life will be held at St. Peter's Church, 5421 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55410, on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:30am.
