Born 12/5/1931 in Mpls, MN. Died 3/23/2025 at 93yrs. Tom was a wonderful husband, dad & grandpa. Retired from Soo Line Railroad. He loved his family, crosswords, good food, martinis & pickled herring. His wife of 69 years died in 2023 - Tom's last words were "Put your arms around me Marilyn. I love you honey." We'll miss your laugh, your calls, and hearing you say "This is best I've ever had!" Preceded in death by his loving wife Marilyn; grandson Sam Abernathy; cousin Sally Ann Fleming; parents Kathleen Fleming & Kenneth Abernathy; grandparents Cora & Thomas D Abernathy and Frank & Cathryn Fleming; aunt Ione Fleming; uncle Mike Fleming. Survived by children Mark (Ruth) Abernathy, Kathy (Don) Ingraham; John (Kelly) Abernathy; grandchildren Tara, Jake, Dane & Emma Abernathy, Ali & Chase Ingraham. Pieper & Phoenix Abernathy; nieces, nephew, great & great-great nieces and nephews. Tom donated his body to the UofMN Anatomy Bequest Program.
