Theodore Edward Webber (Ted) Obituary
Anthem, AZ - Ted Webber, 78, of Anthem, Arizona passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2025 with his wife and his son by his side.
Ted was born on December 11, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Catherine (Schostek) and Theodore W. Webber.
When he was 15 years old, his family moved to Hopkins, MN. Ted attended Hopkins High School where he participated in football, wrestling and track. He was the Senior Class President, the AFS treasurer, the H-Club treasurer, a lab assistant, and a member of the National Honor Society, The Great Books Club, the Senior Class Council, and the Student Council. He graduated in 1965.
He attended Princeton University on a full academic scholarship. He played football, rugby, and wrestled for Princeton and was a member of the Tiger Inn Eating club. He graduated in 1969 with a degree in Biochemistry.
After college, Ted enlisted in the Army, attended Officer Candidate School and served in the 82nd Airborne as a First Lieutenant.
In 1972, Ted began his 40 year career with Genuine Parts Company (NAPA). He began as a Service Manager in Minneapolis, worked as an Operation Manger before becoming a General Manager in 1978. His work with GPC took him all over the U.S., as well as 3 years in Paris, France. He retired from Minneapolis NAPA in 2012.
In 2005, Ted married Mary Miller. They lived in Eden Prairie, MN until their retirement, when they moved to Anthem, Arizona. His years with Mary were the best of his life.
Ted enjoyed golf and traveling with Mary. He got a kick out of playing cards and Trivial Pursuit with family and friends. He was a voracious reader and he loved watching football, rugby, and golf. He was a financial wizard and a tremendous storyteller with a sharp memory and comedic timing.
Ted was one of a kind, a scholar and a gentleman, and his departure leaves an unfulfillable void. Though he is gone too soon, his family is grateful he lived a full life, and for his generosity.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Christian, his sister Bonnie (Mike) Reiter, and his former wife, Noell (Nelson) Webber.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, his children: Andrew Webber and Carol (David) Webber-Overlander from his previous marriage to Noell, his grandchildren: Luke and Lane Webber and Xander, Sofie, and Liam Overlander; his brother Jeff (Terry) Webber and his nieces: Jennifer (David) Tines, Kathy (David) Gunderson, and Madalene (Cory) Cordell.
