Mpls, MN - Terrence Glenn McGann, age 84, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home with family on September 1, 2025. Terry was born February 25, 1941, to Glenn and Evelyn McGann. He graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Manton) Burke; children, Brian (Gayle) McGann, Tim McGann, Meghan (Sterling) Black, and Caitlin (Andy) Nugent; grandchildren, Liam, Maddie, Colin, Owen, Will, Hugh, and Lucy; his children's mother Martha McGann; siblings Lynn, Kathy, and Dennis; and pet dog, Lola.

While not born into wealth, Terry was an accomplished businessman who founded and grew his own company, later selling it to a multinational corporation that continues to use his name in their business dealings. Known for his exceptional generosity, he left a lasting impact on his family, colleagues, and community.

A true individualist, he was not often a joiner of establishments or organizations, and if asked might reply with Groucho Marx's quote, "I would not be a member of any club that would have a person such as myself as a member."

Known to provide bonus checks in a Santa suit, he always enjoyed the Christmas season and the spirit of giving. His homes enjoyed major remodels under his careful eye for detail which also translated into his great taste as an impeccable dresser, and a connoisseur of fine automobiles. Additionally, he completed seven marathons, was an avid biker and skier and had an amazing talent to fix almost anything. We will greatly miss his humor, intelligence, and tenacity for life.

A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, on Friday, September 19, 2025, at noon. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
