Sydney Lea Brown Obituary

Virginia, MN - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sydney Lea Brown, of Virginia, MN, who left us far too soon on at the age of 29. Sydney was a bright light in this world, known for her fiery spirit, her radiant smile, and her unwavering love for those around her. She moved to Virginia, MN in 2023, but her roots in Columbia Heights remained an important part of who she was.

Sydney's life was marked by her straightforwardness, kindness, and her fierce honesty—she was never afraid to speak her mind and always stood by what she believed. At the same time, she was the first person to lend a hand or offer support to anyone in need. Her warmth and energy were contagious, and she had a special way of bringing light to any room she entered.

Sydney was a mother to three beautiful children—Lea, Levi, and Anastacia—who meant the world to her. She treasured every moment she spent with them, and they were the heart of her world.

She was a cherished daughter to Jim (Britt) Brown and Danielle (Joel) Brown, who will feel the deep loss of her presence. Sydney's siblings—Anthony (Lucy) Brown, Joey Burrington, Amanda Burrington, Drew Benes, and Jordan (Joe) Furry—stood by her side, each sharing a unique connection with her. Her nieces, Ameerah, Avery, and Arlo, will always feel the absence of the warmth that Aunt Sydney brought into their lives. Her significant other, Mario Lindsay, will miss her every day.

Sydney was profoundly loved by her grandparents: Nancy Erickson, Carlotta Allen, Joel and Shirley Burrington, Stan and Sharon Rowinski, and Richard and Nancy Allen. Their guidance and love played a pivotal role in shaping the woman she became, and their unwavering presence was a constant source of strength and comfort in her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandfather Dan "Papa" Erickson, Grandfather Alwin "Bud" Stahel, and her brother Andrew Burrington, whose memory she held close to her heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Virginia Elks Club, 220 N 5th Ave, Virginia MN,on August 2, 2025 from 11 am - 2 pm providing a space for family and friends to come together, share memories, and honor the incredible woman Sydney was. Another celebration will be held in the Metro area at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home in Columbia Heights.

As we remember Sydney, we celebrate the love, strength, and joy she shared so generously. She reminded us of the importance of compassion, kindness, and embracing life to the fullest. Though her time with us was far too short, her spirit and impact will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, dear Sydney. You will always be loved, always be remembered, and will never be forgotten.
