Minnetonka - Pemberton, Susan age 83, of Minnetonka, on June 3, 2025, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. Susan lived a life dedicated to education, family, and personal passions. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Pemberton and Jean (Lang) Pemberton; her beloved spouse, Edward Schneider; and her siblings, Jane Pemberton and Beth Pemberton-Seewald. She is survived by her sister, Joanie Farbo. Susan was a loving stepmother to Jodi Schneider, Tammi Schneider, and Bill Schneider. She was a cherished aunt to Elizabeth Uliana and Sue Mann and a proud great-aunt to Katie Uliana. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Ben, Charlie, Caroline, Rachel, Sarah, Abby, Kalilah, and Kate. A graduate of Hallock High School (1960), Susan pursued higher education at Moorhead State (1963) and later earned her Master's degree from St. Thomas. She dedicated her career to shaping young minds, beginning as a teacher in the Cannon Falls School District, then to Robbinsdale School District 281 as a teacher at Forrest Lake and TLC elementary and retiring in 2002 as the principal of Meadow Lake Elementary. Beyond her professional life, Susan found joy in family and friends, volunteering, the theater, golf, tennis, bridge, knitting, reading, and travel. Susan was incredibly gracious, compassionate, patient, and kind. She brought much love into this world, she naturally understood and unconditionally accepted others, and she seemed to always bring out the best in people. Susan's authenticity, her integrity, her optimism, her generosity, and her wonderful sense of humor were always so much appreciated. Susan will be missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those whose lives she touched. At Susan's request, a celebration of life in Eden Prairie will take place on July 12 and she will be laid to rest with her parents in Hallock, MN, on July 14. She had a generous spirit, and supported organizations close to her heart, including Planned Parenthood, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the ACLU of Minnesota.
