Steve was born October 14, 1946, in Minneapolis and grew up in Crystal, Minnesota. In 1966, at the age of 19, Steve enlisted in the United States Navy. He took tremendous pride in serving his country aboard the USS Cambria, where he began his career as an electrician.
He married his wife, Linda, in 1970, and they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on January 17, 2026. He graduated from Dunwoody Institute in 1971 and became a member of the IBEW and worked as an electrician for thirty some years before retiring at the age of 62. He worked alongside many fellow electricians over the years who have remained lifetime friends to this day, enjoying a weekly breakfast together at Elsie's restaurant.
Steve and Linda spent more than 40 wonderful summers at their cabin on Upper Mission Lake in Northern Minnesota, cherishing great times with their family and friends. He worked tirelessly at maintaining a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy. Many lasting memories were made as Steve took the kids fishing, sailing, tubing, skiing, biking on the Paul Bunyan Trail, and unforgettable trips to the Chocolate Ox for ice cream. He built beautiful campfires and was infamous for his tractor and trailer rides.
Steve was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loving brother and uncle, and loyal friend. He lived with purpose and quiet integrity.
