Stanley Martin Cherveny (Stan) Obituary

Mpls, MN - Age 94, passed away on November 22, 2025. He was a resident at the Minneapolis Veterans Home, previously from Eagan and Bloomington, MN.

Stan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula; his parents, Theodore and Georgia Cherveny; and his brother, Theodore G. "Sonny" Cherveny. He is survived by his children Gwen (Maynard) Foster, Bruce Cherveny (special friend Rita-Faye Fisher), and Carol (Chris) Hinkle; seven grandchildren and their spouses/significant others; one great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Stan served in the mid-1950s, stationed in Germany. He worked for many years as a cement mason and concrete finisher with C&H Cement. He found joy in baking cookies, traveling, spending winters in Arizona, volunteering at church, and sharing his laughter and wonderful sense of humor with all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 201 E. 104th Street, Bloomington, MN, followed by a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Visitation with family will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Holy Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
