Mpls, MN - Shirley Ann Torgerson went to be with Jesus her Savior on April 2nd. She has joined her son Robert and grandson Ryan on the streets of gold. Shirley's daughters Deborah Quirt and Sandrah (Larry) Heir,her loving grandsons Dylan Quirt, Colin (Jessica) Quirt, and Trevor Higgs, along with her great grandchildren Mason and Luca, grieve her loss but are grateful she is free of pain and suffering.

Shirley was born on March 9th, 1935 to Catherine and Joseph Zahorski. She grew up on a dairy farm near Weyerhauser Wisconsin. Shirley's siblings are Ken (Marijean) Zahorski, Judi (Russell) Anderson, Ron (Delores) Zahorski and Chris Woody.

Shirley married Robert Mortensen in 1952. They raised their three children in Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Florida, Missouri and back to Minneapolis. Her husband Robert passed away in 1961. Shirley raised her three children alone and was a wonderful, loving and thoughtful mother. After her children were adults, Shirley re-married Lee Torgerson (they had a amicable divorce in 1985).Lee passed away in 2025.

Shirley loved her Savior and raised her children to love the Lord. Her other passions included hosting gatherings, she was known as "the hostess with the mostest". Shirley was a amazing gourmet cook. She had an incredible green thumb, and had the most spectacular flower gardens. Shirley loved to travel and she took many trips to Europe, Mexico, and all over the US. But spending time with family and friends is what she cherished the most!

Please join us at Shirley's celebration of life on May 9th at 11:00am, followed by a lunch at : Heritage Fellowship Church, 3639 Quebec Avenue South, St. Louis Park, MN 55426. Shirley loved flowers, so flowers are welcome.
