Blaine - Sharon Louise Salminen, known to family and friends as Sherry, passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 75. Born August 2, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN, Sherry was the daughter of Florence Elaine (Palmer) Saari and Henry Rufus Saari. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Denise Olson. Sherry was a loving, generous, and empathetic woman who offered a sympathetic and consoling ear to all who came to her. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and her quiet strength and compassion made her a constant source of comfort to those around her. She was also hardworking and deeply committed to her responsibilities, holding two jobs simultaneously for more than 20 years. Sherry worked at the Hennepin County Court's Ridgedale location and at Dayton's department store, where she enjoyed selling handbags and connecting with customers. Her dedication, reliability, and warmth left a lasting impression on both coworkers and the community. Sherry is survived by her partner, Roy Salminen; her sister, Joni Saari; her five children: Charles (Jen), Christopher (Jennifer), Rebecca (Terry), Jason (Evangela), and Joel (Heather); grandchildren Jack, Brooke, Jake, Erik, Ethan, Sam, Malia, Georgia, and Brandon; bonus grandchildren Andrew, Meghann, and Lily; and beloved nieces and nephews DR, Megan, Katie, and Mark. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 11th from 1-4pm at Mississippi Crossings Event Center, 307 E River Pkwy, Champlin, MN 55316.
