Apple Valley, MN - Sharon Hawkins Besonen, age 84, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026.
She was born December 11, 1941, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Joseph and Lucille (Ford) Hawkins. Sharon graduated from Marion High School in 1959 and completed nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester in 1962. She worked as a nurse in family medicine for many years.
Sharon enjoyed golfing, spending time up north, and was active in the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara (Besonen) Stockwell; sister, Sheila (Hawkins) Nemmers; and both parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Meghan Besonen, and her brother, Gary Hawkins.
A funeral service will be held in the spring; details to be announced.
