Ryan Thomas Vanyo Obituary
Duluth - beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday September 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his wife and their two sons as he entered eternal rest.
Born on October 4, 1974, in Golden Valley, MN, Ryan lived a life full of love, laughter, faith, and kindness. A proud graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, he earned his MBA and went on to build a successful career, most recently serving as Director of Credit and Loyalty Marketing at Maurices.
Faith and community were an integral part of Ryan's life. He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and was recently inducted into the Knights of Columbus.
Ryan had a zest for life and a wide array of passions. He was an avid sports fan, cheering faithfully for all Minnesota professional teams and the Golden Gophers. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and golfing, as well as exploring the wonders of the night sky. He cherished moments spent viewing the Northern Lights, and he found joy in playing cards and slot machines at many casinos.
Above all, Ryan will be remembered for his huge smile, laughter, boundless heart, and ability to make every person he met feel seen and valued. He was an amazing husband and father whose family was his greatest pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by his older brother Christopher Vanyo
He is survived by his loving wife, Alisha; his sons, Vincent and Nolan; his father, Tom (Diomaris) Vanyo; his mother Pam Cutting; his siblings, Greg (Danielle) Johnson, Jenni (Sean Olson) Vanyo, and Collin (Eboni Stern) Vanyo and many nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Ryan's life was a gift to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the example he set of a life well lived.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 12, 2025, beginning at 9:30AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. 2801 E. 4th St. Duluth, MN 55812.
