Hilton Head, South Carolina - His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches over me.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our father, Ronald Sparrow. He passed peacefully on July 29, 2025 at the age of 87, in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Ron was born on the family farm in Portland, North Dakota. Completing a degree in electrical engineering, he started his career with Northwestern Bell (AT&T). Working his way through the company from pole climbing to executive management. After retirement he continued as a consultant for 3M, US West and KGPCo. He generously gave back to his communities and was on the board of multiple organizations. Throughout his life he resided in North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, The Carolina's and Florida. Ron was an avid golfer, enjoying yard work and outside activities. He loved spending time with family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Judy, parents William and Luella, brother Gene and great grandson, Aiden. Survived by sisters, Charlyne and Sherrie, his six children, Ann (Edward) Hanft, Peggy (Bill) Gilbert, Steve (Carol) Sparrow, Sue (Eric) Spreeman, Julie (Paul) Leonhart, Doug (Cyndi) Sparrow. Fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A private family reunion is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army, Wounded Warriors or St. Jude.
