Rosemount, Minnesota - Ron passed away on October 30, 2025 from Lewy Body Dementia. Ron was in the United States Navy during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, history, sports, reading the paper, crosswords, and TV.
Ron is survived by his children: Scott(Cathy) Nelson, Philip "Chip" Nelson, Michael Whitelaw, Marianne(Devon) Norder, Cheri Ottem (daughter-in-love), Mark Stemper(son-in-law)
Grandchildren: Virginia, Peyton, William, Amelia, Elle, Nelson, Bellamie, Elena (Kelly) and Sean.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Mildred Nelson; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sally Nelson; daughter, Michelle Whitelaw Stemper and loving wife Virginia Nelson.
We are grateful for the wonderful care and support from the VA in Mpls and Suite Living in Rosemount.
Private services to be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
