Ronald John Hick Obituary
Mpls, MN - Ron was born in St. Paul and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Urban Studies. He worked with a number of organizations, including the Lexington-Hamline Community Council, RJH Strategic Services, Bryant Village Initiative, West Broadway Business and Area Coalition, and The Minneapolis Foundation. He helped with organizing operations, strategic planning, program management, community outreach, inter-governmental relations, and public policy initiatives.
He was a lifelong, devout and knowledgeable member of the Bahá'í faith. Among numerous other activities, Ron was for many years a member of the Local Assembly of the Bahá'í's of Minneapolis, often serving as chairman. He was passionately devoted to the well-being and unity of all the peoples of the world.
Ron had a great sense of humor, never letting too much time pass without hearing his booming laugh. He also enjoyed sharing his love of music with others, always giving recommendations to friends and family for new acts to listen to. He also had a keen sense of civic affairs. He loved animals, especially his corgis, Katie and Talie.
He is preceded in death by his spouse, Sharon, his dog, Talie, and his sister, Patricia. He is survived by his stepson, Brendan (Karen) Williams and many friends. Burial took place at Lakewood Cemetery on October 2, memorial service to be held on Oct 11 at 1pm at the Bahá'í Center in Minneapolis.
