Roger C. Lenahan Obituary

Henderson, NV - 68, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Caroline Lenahan. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Lisa; his stepchildren, Katie, Hailey, and Johnathan; his sister, Mary Williamson; his niece, Megan, and nephew, Sean; his sons, Daniel, John, Timothy, and Joseph; and his grandchildren.

Roger was born in Buffalo, New York, where he lived until the age of 15, when his family moved to Brookfield, Wisconsin. He played football at Brookfield East High School and graduated in 1976. It was during his high school years that his natural gift for sales first emerged. Roger worked at the local Kmart and could still belt out a "Blue Light Special" at will.

Roger graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and began his career at Xerox, where he formed lifelong friendships. In the late 1980s, he transitioned into commercial real estate and, alongside his original mentor, business partner, and lifelong friend, Richard Grones, founded Cambridge Commercial Realty in 1991.

Cambridge Commercial Realty grew over the years, employing many and launching the careers of numerous talented professionals in the industry. Their extensive list of clients makes it nearly impossible to travel more than a few miles in the Twin Cities without passing a business, restaurant, or warehouse that was touched by CCR.

Throughout his life, Roger was deeply involved in the Minnetonka Youth Football program. He initially became a youth coach to coach his sons, a role that grew into decades of service as a coach, board member, and President of the LMAA. In 2013, he was honored with the Minnetonka School District Spinnaker Award, reserved for those who exemplify volunteerism, community, and service to the greater good.

In addition to all of that, one of the true highlights of his life was being the voice of the Skippers, broadcasting the play-by-play for Friday night high school football games. Above all, Roger was a devoted father who valued the time he spent with his sons throughout their lives.

In early 2013, Roger met Lisa, and the two began a relationship that would become the most meaningful of their lives. They both recognized how rare it was to find such a perfect match at that point in life and never took it for granted, often expressing how fortunate they were to have found each other. They were rarely apart yet never ran out of things to talk about.

Over the years, they built a wonderful life together, and in recent years enjoyed splitting their time between Nevada and Minnesota. He embraced Lisa's children as his own, becoming an incredible stepfather. Whether teaching them how to drive, helping them secure their first jobs, or offering guidance and kindness, they are all deeply grateful for the relationship they shared with him.

God broke the mold when He created Roger—he was truly one of a kind. Kind, loving, generous, and funny, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Roger's celebration of life will be held at Boardwalk Kitchen & Bar, 1125 Shenandoah Dr., Shakopee, MN 55379, on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
