Plymouth, MN - 79, Plymouth. Died on July 13th surrounded by his family. Bob grew up on the Snake River in Pine City, attended Carleton College and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. With his wife Mary Jane, they raised two daughters, Ann and Becky, who couldn't have loved their dad more. Bob, Mary Jane and family lived all over the country and the world during Bob's career with Cargill and later as a consultant, meeting many cherished friends in each place they lived. After retiring, they settled into active lives in the Twin Cities. They were members of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth for 40 years and active participants in the Carleton Alumni Association, Meals on Wheels, Global MN, and Loaves & Fishes volunteers. Bob supported the Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, and was a Westminster Town Hall Forum board member and a 27-gallon blood donor. Bob and Mary Jane were doting grandparents, tutoring frequently in their grandchildren's' classrooms, as well as at Lucy Craft Laney Elementary School. Bob was incredibly kind and always there, with his partner Mary Jane, to support, help, visit, volunteer, or lend a hand. He was smart and curious, and enjoyed playing cribbage, doing crosswords and reading the paper edition of the Strib, to which he wrote to comment on articles and correct grammar. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
