Birchwood, WI - Rick Labandz, 65, of Birchwood, WI passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, after an incredibly courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 16, 1959, in Minneapolis. Rick grew up in Northeast Minneapolis, attended Edison High School, and earned his degree at Dunwoody College of Technology. He dedicated his professional life as a Journeyman Electrician. As a member of IBEW Local 292, Rick was admired for his work ethic, kindness, leadership, loyalty, and dedication to getting the job done.

Beyond his work, Rick was known for his deep devotion to his family, who found joy snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and working outdoors. His strength, resilience, and humor in the face of illness inspired all who knew him.

He is survived by Mary Labandz (wife), Melissa Kelly, (daughter), Tim Kelly (son in-law), Julia Fischer (daughter), Eric Fischer (son-in law), Jenna Fischer (granddaughter), and Evan Fischer (grandson) and many extended families who will forever cherish his memory and warrior spirit and deeply miss his servant heart.

A celebration of Rick's life will be held on October 3, 2025, from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Bunker Hills Golf Club - Coon Rapids, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the "Rick Labandz Memorial Annual Scholarship" at Dunwoody College or to The Mayo Clinic for their dedicated treatment through Rick's journey.

Rick's legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
