Ricki Breiter Obituary
Edina, MN - Ricki Sue Breiter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, just weeks before what would have been her 80th birthday. Though Alzheimer's had quietly claimed much of her in her final years, what could not be taken was the love her generosity inspired.
Ricki gave her time, her resources, and her talents to causes she believed in, including The Link MN, the American Lung Association, the Community Action Council (now 360 Communities) food shelf, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Arm Full of Love, and more. Charity wasn't an occasional gesture for Ricki, it was woven into who she was.
Ricki was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Ernest Ericson and her sister-in-law, Norma Ericson. She is survived by her devoted husband Thomas; her children Zea (Sam) Leguizamon-Grant, Jared (Alycia) Breiter, and Lindsay (Jake) Sheppard; her grandchildren Sol, Norah, Alden, Corinne, and Esmé; her brothers Donavan Ericson and Martin (Julie) Ericson; nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of cousins, friends, and church family whose lives she touched in ways large and small.
A visitation and celebration of life will be held at Community of Christ church in Apple Valley, MN on Saturday, May 23, 2026; visitation 10:00-11:00 and funeral 11:00-12:00, with lunch to follow.
