Burns, Richard "Dick" of NE Mpls, died peacefully March 21, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mitzi; and his parents, Richard and Dolores (Monahan) Burns. Dick was a 1968 Graduate of Edison High School. He went on to serve his country as a drill instructor in the US Army at Fort Jackson, SC. He was an avid golfer, always eager for a friendly match. He liked all sports having played basketball, football, softball, broomball, and bowled for many years during his life. More than sports, he cherished the friendships he made throughout his life. He was a true friend to many, always ready with a helping hand and a big smile. Dick is survived and deeply mourned by his daughters, Gina and Jenny Burns; siblings, Carol Warne, Ed (LuAnn), Jack (Carol), Bob (Mary), Kathy (Mike) Jensen, Jim (Cheryl); and a wide circle of extended family and friends. While our hearts ache with his loss, we find comfort knowing he lived a life filled with love and lasting friendships. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to donors choice.
