Coon Rapids, MN - On October 31, 2025, Raymond Junior Olson of Coon Rapids, MN passed away at 90 years of age. Ray was born in Roseau, MN to Seth and Margaret Olson (Waites). Ray was the sixth of seven children- Ethel Brenhaug (Olson), Abel Olson, Helen Sjodin (Olson), Rita Mitchell (Olson), Earl Olson, and Betty Spina (Olson). They grew up on the family farm in Salol, Minnesota. Ray worked for over 40 years on the railroad (Rock Island, Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, and eventually Burlington Northern Sante Fe). For many years, he worked a second job as an automotive mechanic. Ray retired from BNSF Railroad in 1998. Ray married Charlotte Olson (Rohwer) in 1956. A daughter, Kelly Craven (Olson), was born of this union in 1957. In 1976, Ray married Babette Olson (Zengel) and together they raised Daniel Neuville, Dean Neuville, Patricia Cross (Neuville) and Pamela Dahlgren (Neuville). A daughter, Paula Gates (Olson), was born of Ray and Babette's union in 1977. Ray married Elaine Olson (Curtis) in 2002. Ray was preceded in death by his wives, parents and siblings. Ray is survived by his six children, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many loving extended family members and friends.
