St. Paul - Age 90, died peacefully November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born in St. Paul in 1934, Ray was a proud son of the city and one of its strongest advocates. Ray was a graduate of Cretin High School (1952), St. Thomas College (1956) and William Mitchell College of Law (1960). A devout Catholic, Ray had a passion for helping people and was devoted to the improvement of his community. He was a tireless advocate for the less fortunate in society. He volunteered his time and talents to a multitude of civic and religious organizations, including serving as a long-time volunteer attorney with Chrysalis Women's Center and providing over fifty years of volunteer work to the Little Sisters of the Poor, who awarded him with its highest honor, the St. Jeanne Jugan Award, in 2012. Ray's circle of friends was enormous and included people from all walks of life. Ray practiced law in Saint Paul for over 60 years and was president of the Ramsey County Bar Association ('86-'87). Ray was a long-time fixture in state and local politics. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1971-1980, where he was chairman of the House Judiciary Committee; and he was chief author of the state's first minimum wage law enacted in 1973. He served as President of St. Paul Charter Commission and Chairman of the Ramsey County Charter Commission. He also served for over thirty years as a referee in Ramsey County conciliation court. Ray's greatest joy was his family life, where he found endless enjoyment in his five children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his first (and third!) wife Sidney (Beahan) Faricy, his children Tara Faricy, Raymond Faricy III, Brigid Maki (Gary), and Patrick Faricy (Anne), and son-in-law Brian Stang. Predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Frances (Corcoran) Faricy, his sisters Mary Ellen West and Irene Blazina, his second wife, Bobbie Henrie-Faricy, and his daughter Megan Stang. Funeral services will be held at Nativity of Our Lord, 1900 Stanford Ave. St. Paul at 10:30 am (visitation at 9:30) on Saturday, November 15th. A celebration of life will be held 5-8pm on Friday, November 14th at O'Halloran & Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave S, St Paul, MN.
