San Diego, CA - Raymond Lawrence (Ray) Connelly passed away peacefully on October 4th at Nazareth House in San Diego, CA. Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jo, stepdaughter Kathi Hansen (Greg), stepson Jay Leary (Linda), four grandchildren, Todd Cuffaro (Megan) and Taylor Seyfert Cuffaro (Christie), Elliott Post (Ann) and Allison Burke (Coleton), and six great-grandchildren, each held in his arms and blessed with his radiant smile, Lio and Isaac Post, Calvin and Viola Burke, Aster Seyfert Cuffaro, and Tessa Cuffaro, sisters-in-law Mary Pat, Maxine, and Patrice Connelly, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Pat and Mary Connelly, brothers Tim, Pat, Frank and Bob Connelly, and sisters Mary Krech and Ann Cosgrove.

Ray was born in Burnsville, where he lived for over 60 years until dividing his time between Minneapolis and Coronado CA. He was active in the early development of Burnsville and its business community as a commercial realtor, business owner, and through his involvement in numerous civic organizations and councils.

In addition to time spent with cherished family and friends, Ray and Jo traveled extensively across the globe, and devoted time and resources to people less fortunate. Ray's love of family was evident in his adoration of and devotion to his wife, the lively and loud gatherings at the Connelly farm, and in his joyful engagement with his grandkids.

A devout Catholic, Ray was faithful to the end.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage at 9:30 am on Friday, November 7th, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30. Luncheon will follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation to Catholic Charities be considered.
