Minnetonka, MN - Age 83 of Minnetonka, Minnesota (born August 22, 1942 in West Point Mississippi) passed away on January 13, 2026.
Preston was a loving spouse to his wife Yolanda Holness Clark for 55 years; a dedicated father to their two sons: Preston Clark Jr. & Jamal Clark.
He was the proud "POPPY" grand daughter Anneston & grandson Ayreston of Tennessee); and "ABUELITO" to step grand daughters Justine, Rainna & Mesa Jameson (Cottage Grove MN).
Preston was a devoted son to his parents Eugene & Corinne Clark (deceased); loving brother to Frances Clark, Dan Clark (deceased) (Gloria Jeanne), Saundrah (Herb) Grevious, Meredith Clark Ford (deceased), Cecil Ann (deceased) & Donnie Clark (Glynise) all of Chicago, Illinois.
Preston graduated from CRANE HIGH SCHOOL in Chicago. He was drafted into the Army & served in VIETNAM 1967-69. After retuning from the War in VIETNAM he received his BS degree from MACALESTER COLLEGE in Minnesota (where he met his future wife & married Yolanda in 1970). Preston taught Jr High school in Edina MN. He worked for the Mpls Police Dept, Bachmann's European Flower Market, The Mpls Star/Tribune Newspaper & Lustrasilk Corp. Preston later became an entrepreneur who started several of his own businesses: landscaping, painting, developed his own sun screen, industrial cleaning, hair care products and barbecue sauces & spices.
Preston retired in 2020.
He is survived by wife Yolanda, sons Preston jr. (Angela) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Jamal (Kristina) of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, grandson Ayreston; granddaughters Anneston, Justine, Rainna & Mesa; sisters Frances, Saundrah, brother Donnie & beloved nephews & nieces who loved & respected their Uncle Preston!
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM with visitation one hour prior on Friday, January 30th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd Minnetonka, 55345. Repass will follow the service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, February 2nd at 9:30AM.
