Bloomington - Peter (Pete) Kern was born on August 11, 1938, in Minneapolis to John and Jane Kern. He died on November 1, 2025 (87 years) surrounded by his family. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, John Alden and Cynthia "Jane" Kern, and his brother Steve. He is survived by wife Mary, brother Don; daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Surma and Linda (John) Barth; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott), Brandon (Lifeng), Kyle (Michelle), Kassidy (Michael) and Luke; great-granddaughters, Alexis, Zoe and Anya. Pete attended Washburn High School graduating class of 1956. He joined the Army, completed basic training and became an Army Reservist. He married Mary Loch in 1959 and they were blessed with two daughters. They lived in Richfield for many years before settling in Bloomington. Pete worked as a Lithographer for most of his life. He enjoyed antique cars, owned a number of them and was a member of T-Totaler's and MSRA. Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 10, 2025 at 2:00 P.M at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennipen Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Private Burial.
