Mpls - Our dear son, brother, and friend, Peter Hart Joppru, age 36, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.

Pete was a rock and a genuine original. He lived without pretense, just being entirely and honestly himself. A natural athlete, he competed with a fierce, tiger-like spirit that remains legendary. He was unstoppable, the last guy anyone wanted to face off against.

Though he carried a lot inside and faced his own battles, he always offered a smile, a kind word, and whatever he had, no matter how little, to share. People gravitated toward Pete; friend Chris Lowe noted, "he always had a swarm of guys around him."

We are deeply saddened that Pete's life was cut short, but we take profound comfort in knowing he was a true believer. The battle is over; the victory is won. He has been called home to Heaven, finding eternal rest in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. May God's gentle peace embrace everyone who knew him and lift the weight of our sorrow.

Peter is deeply loved and greatly missed by his mother, Mary Dreblow Joppru; his father, Ricky Dale Joppru; and his stepmother, Ceilia Castrillón. He was a loving brother to his sisters, Emily Dreblow Rey and Mellissa Sierra, and a wonderful brother-in-law to Daniel Rey. His niece, Dahlia Rey Dreblow, held a special place in his heart. Peter is also warmly remembered by a large family spanning across the United States and Colombia, as well as friends from all walks of life stretching from South Minneapolis and Boquete, Panama, to Medellín and Girardota, Colombia.

Many gathered in Colombia to celebrate Peter's life, remembering his warm and compassionate nature, his easygoing spirit, and the heart of a true warrior.
