Peter Hayward Archibald Obituary

Minnetonka, MN - Age 89, of Minnetonka, passed away December 4, 2025.

Born and raised in Ishpeming, Michigan, by parents Inez and Robert Archibald.

Peter was an avid sportsman and lover of the outdoors. He downhill skied for years and brought his family along for the thrill. He found much joy in a duck blind and pheasant fields with friends for many, many seasons. He was also an accomplished skeet shooter at Minneapolis Gun Club. In later years he spent considerable time in Montana fly fishing with his wife Janie. He was a lover of a gin martini, teller of an off-color joke, and especially fond of dogs, and is survived by his sweet English Setter, Josie.

Peter was a graduate of Williams College and was in the commercial banking business for 40 years, also a member of various professional banking associations. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Army National Guard of Minnesota.

Peter is survived by wife Jane McCaull Archibald, daughter Laura Paine (Lindsay), son Tim Archibald, son-in-law Dave Holden (Sarah), and beloved grandchildren Abbey, Jack (Kath), Ella and Johnny. Survived by siblings Anne Archibald (Dave), Rob Archibald (Kathy), and Isabel DeFeo (Tony). Also survived by lifelong friends and a clan of cousins. He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Ellie Holden, and brother Tony Archibald. Memorials preferred to Trout Unlimited, Williams College. Services pending.
