St. Paul - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Paula Farell, age 56, of St. Paul, MN.

After a six-year battle with breast cancer, Paula passed away in Seal Beach, CA on July 31, 2025. Her celebration of life will be on October 11. Kindly contact the family for details.

Paula was born on Sept. 12,1968 to Cesar and Dora Farell in Iowa City, IA. The family then relocated to Arden Hills, MN in 1979. Paula graduated from Mounds View High School in 1986 and received a BA and an MBA from the U of M in 1990 and 1992. Paula moved to El Paso, TX in 1994, where she founded "Sojourns", a coffee house and "Nativa", a yerba mate business, which she managed until her passing.

Paula and Mike Stromwall were united in marriage in 1997. They returned to MN with their three basset hounds in the year 2000, eventually welcoming their daughter, Lucy, into their lives in 2001. In 2018, Paula moved to Long Beach, CA, to expand her yerba mate business. Soon after her arrival she received a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Paula is survived by her daughter, Lucy; grandson, Ryan (20 months); beloved basset hound, Georgia; father, Cesar Farell; sister, Virginia Berglund; brother, Gustavo Farell; five nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Brian Berglund; Esteban and Daniela Farell; and six grand-nephews Lucas, Declan and Liam Mueller; Brooks, Isaac and Colin Noennig as well and other friends and relatives.
