Hopkins - Born Sept 17, 1932, Minneapolis, MN. Parents: Adolph and Hilda Schmiege. A sudden health event took her to heaven on May 3, 2026. Preceded by parents, husband of 51 years Thomas H. Shaughnessy Jr., brother Mark Schmiege, (sister-in-law) Elaine Schmiege, sister Lois Iverson, (brother-in-law) Robert Iverson, sister Mary McColl, nephews Michael Schmiege and John Iverson. Survived by children Cynthia Proell (Duane-favorite son-in-law), Thomas M. Shaughnessy, granddaughters Katie Proell London (Matthew), Anna Proell (fiancé Spenser Smith), great-grandsons Her Joys Cooper and Ty London, dear family friend Jarilyn Cenfield, and many special loving nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the Methodist 5th floor nursing staff, nursing aides, doctors and hospice staff. The love and caring you shared for Pat and family will always be remembered. A funeral service will be held Thur., May 14, at Zion Lutheran Church, 241 5th Ave. N., Hopkins, at 11am, with a visitation for 1 hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
