Mpls - Cox, Norma J. age 83, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. Born June 10, 1942, to Norman and Jeanne Justice, Norma graduated from Southwest High and the University of Minnesota. She married the love of her life, Howard S. Cox, in 1970 and together they built a life - and a successful ad agency - in the heart of Minneapolis. Norma had a distinguished career in advertising and sales, holding leadership roles at KMSP-TV, Merrill Corporation, Clear Channel and Minnesota Public Radio, where she served as National Sales Manager. She was nationally recognized for her achievements and was a proud mentor to many. A passionate advocate for women in media, Norma served as National President of American Women in Radio and Television and led several professional organizations with grace and determination. A lifelong, supportive Democrat, she cared deeply about civic engagement and progressive values. Norma is survived by her son, Steve Gile (Wendy), granddaughter Ava; stepchildren & step-grandchildren, siblings, John (Judy), Jim and Paula Berry (Jim), her adored dogs Hazel and Ruby and many friends and loved ones. She will be remembered for her warmth, wit, generosity, stylish spirit and deep love for animals and community. She will be missed beyond words. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
