Edina, MN - Neil Clement Olsen, 84, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on May 21, 2025, surrounded by family.

Neil was born on March 11, 1941, in Moline Illinois, to Clement and Edith Olsen. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1963 followed by a master's degree the next year. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Neil married Carol Elizabeth Brekke in 1964. After the wedding Carol and Neil moved to Stuttgart Germany as part of the 540th Engineer Battalion where he reached the rank of Captain. Upon returning to the United States he ended his service at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Post military career, Neil joined Armco Steel living in Middletown, Ohio, Newburg, New York, and Glen Ellyn, Illinois. After leaving Armco the family moved to Minnesota where he worked for Proform and Xerxes Corporations in various executive positions until his retirement.

Neil loved God, his family, fishing, boating, golfing, stock trading, World War II history and traveling.

He cherished his time on Hilton Head Island during the winter and Madeline Island during the summer. There with Carol and their various dogs he enjoyed quality time with family and friends.

Neil had a very strong faith and was very interested in creation after working as a volunteer for Answers in Genisis and the Creation Museum. He taught classes on the biblical view of creation and was a long-time member of Christ Presbyterian Church. For 40 years plus he participated and cherished his Tuesday morning men's breakfast group with long time christian friends.

In addition to his loving wife Carol of 61 years Neil is survived by three children, their spouses and eight grandchildren, Eric Olsen (Sarah) Freja and Ilsa, Gregory Olsen (Mollie) Aidan, Finnian and Keenan, and Cindy Legg (Mike) Lillian, Olivia, and Gabrielle.

Services will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina at 11:00 Friday, June 6. A lunch will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Neil to Christ Presbyterian Church or Answers in Genesis.
