North Port, FL - Mick is survived by his loving wife and partner of 37 years, Mary Ritter, stepchildren Trevor and Tristan; sister Jean, brother Rick (Alice), brother in law John Hoeft, husband of his late sister Nancy, sister Shari (Terry) and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Mick dedicated 40 years of his career to the StarTribune, where he was respected for his hard work, loyalty, and lasting friendships. Outside of work he enjoyed playing softball all around the country, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Known for his sense of humor, kindness and ability to make friends wherever he went, Mick touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship and devotion to family. His absence will be felt deeply by those fortunate enough to share in his life.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on 5-16-2026 at Jax Cafe, 1928 University Ave NE, Mpls.
