South St. Paul, MN - Michael "Mike" Emerson McSheffrey, age 37 of South St Paul, MN, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1988, in Mesa, Arizona, to John and Karin McSheffrey. Two years later, John's career took the family to Saudi Arabia, where they lived for six years before relocating to Eagan, Minnesota.

Growing up, Mike loved playing football, going for bike rides, playing video games, and swimming with his friends. After graduating from Eagan High School, Mike attended Southwest MN State University. It wasn't long after that when mutual friends introduced him to Alyssa, the woman he called "the love of my life". They were married in 2013.

Mike worked for Best Buy Corporate for over 13 years. During that time, he held many roles in education and training, social media, and e-commerce. Movies, video games, cooking, and animals (especially his babies, George and Nello) were some of his passions. Mike was thrilled to get his own workshop in the back of the garage when he and Alyssa bought their South St Paul house in 2019. He loved tinkering around in there; anything from small woodworking projects to simply organizing hardware would take him back to great times with his beloved "Bumpa", his late grandfather, Gordon "Gordy" Amoth. Mike was a great storyteller with an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh.

Michael is survived by his wife, Alyssa McSheffrey; mother, Karin McSheffrey; parents-in-law, Steven (Angela) Ward, and Roxanne Green; brother, John Patrick McSheffrey (Katie); sister, Diana McSheffrey; sisters-in-law, Alexandra Ward and Josie (Chad Pelzl) Vaidich; brother-in-law, Nick (Brittany) Vaidich; nieces, Magdalene, Abigail, Elizabeth, and Catherine; nephew, Patrick; aunts & uncles, Kristin Amoth, Kevin (Wendy) Amoth, Tom (Linda) McSheffrey, Jim McSheffrey, Carol (Scott O'Hara) McSheffrey; several other aunts and uncles through marriage, as well as many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John Michael McSheffrey; father-in-law, Forest Green; grandparents, Gordon & Audrey Amoth, and Margaret McSheffrey; and nephew, John Paul.

A Memorial Gathering will be held in a private room at Casper's Cherokee of Eagan on January 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, with a service at 12:30 pm.
