Mary Lee Marshall Obituary

Roseville - Age 89 of Roseville, passed away on May 27, 2026 at the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis. She will be deeply missed by her husband of nearly 65 years, James; children Pete (Claudia), Mick (Denise), Pat (Karen), Tim (Jennifer) and Scott; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

The ultimate caregiver, Mary Lee dedicated her life to nurturing growth in everyone and everything around her. She was the second oldest of 10 siblings that grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota. She helped raise her younger siblings and excelled in 4-H, winning several sewing and cooking competitions.

After high school, Mary Lee studied nursing at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. After working as a pediatric nurse for several years, she devoted her time to raising her family. She successfully raised five boys – a feat that required boundless energy, a sense of humor and an abundance of love. She was an ever-present cheerleader at her children's and grandchildren's many activities and milestones. Mary Lee later returned to work as an elementary school nurse and as the nurse at the 4-H building during the MN State Fair for many years until her retirement.

When she wasn't caring for patients or managing the household, Mary Lee could be found tending to her plants or sitting at the sewing machine. She was an avid gardener, transforming her yard into a sanctuary for birds, bees, vegetables and flowers. As an exceptionally talented sewer, she poured love into every stitch of the clothing that she crafted for family and friends.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents and two of her siblings. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and 7 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 10am with visitation one hour prior at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (2048 Hamline Ave N, Roseville MN). Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.www.Washburn-McReavy.com
