Prior Lake, MN - Mary Kay (Hasskamp) Lacy, age 77 of Prior Lake, MN passed away peacefully on May 9, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Kay was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on September 10, 1947. She grew up in Crosby, MN where she attended Crosby-Ironton High School. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Brainerd Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in foreign languages

(French & German).

After completing her degree, Mary Kay served 37 years as a flight attendant for North Central, Republic, and Northwest Airlines. She was widely admired and respected by her flight colleagues and especially known for her professionalism. For most of her career,

Mary Kay was fortunate to fly with her sister Anne (Hasskamp) Sambar which made them the first pair of sisters to ever fly for North Central.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband of 28 beautiful years Kent Lacy, her devoted sons Adam Johnson and Mark Lyons, her beloved sisters Kris Hasskamp and Roberta (Hasskamp) Whitney, longtime family friend Nancy Petroske, her endearing grandchildren Thora and Levon Lyons, along with extended family nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Donna (Denis) Hasskamp; along with her beloved sister Anne (Hasskamp) Sambar.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Michaels Catholic church in Prior Lake, MN; on Friday, May 16 at 11:00 am preceded by visitation at the church 9:30 and Rosary at 10:30. Her ashes will be interned on Saturday May 17 at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, MN, in the Hasskamp family burial plot.

Her family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and healthcare associates that helped Mary Kay through her heart transplant in 2014 and cancer treatments. They helped to add a decade of living for her to enjoy life. In lieu of flowers, any donations to the Minneapolis Heart Institute and the American Cancer Society in her honor are appreciated.
