Mary Kaye Kathleen (Dupont) Tuttle (Mary Kaye) Obituary

Excelsior, MN - Mary Kathleen "Mary Kaye" (Dupont) Tuttle

December 27, 1939 - July 20, 2026

With profound sadness and endless gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Mary Kaye Tuttle (Dupont), 87, of Edina, passed away on July 20, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1939, in Minneapolis to Laurent and Mary Dupont.

She is survived by her siblings Suzanne (Richard), Larry (Jennifer), Dennis (Cindy), and Mark (Lori). She was preceded in death by her sister Michelle and her parents, Laurent and Mary Dupont.

Mary Kaye was petite in stature but larger than life. She was wise, hardworking, fiercely competitive, and the strongest protector her family could have asked for. If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew she would always show up, always cheer the loudest, and always have your back.

She found her greatest happiness at her sons lake homes where family gathered and lifelong memories were made. There was nowhere she'd rather be than surrounded by the people she loved.

Mary Kaye was the ultimate competitor. Whether it was a board game, a card game, or her beloved fantasy football league, she played to win and she never let you win just because you were family. She proudly earned the title of four time Tuttle Fantasy Football Champion. She was also a devoted fan of the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings, and Twins, celebrating every season with unwavering loyalty.

Nothing meant more to Mary Kaye than her family. Known lovingly to her grandchildren as "Grandma Sniff," she was their biggest cheerleader and rarely missed one of their sporting events, dance recitals, piano performances, or other special moments. No matter where they played or performed, they could always count on seeing Grandma Sniff in the crowd, cheering them on with pride and unconditional love.

Her work ethic was second to none. Mary Kaye dedicated 36 years to LifeTouch, where she faithfully worked from 1979 until her retirement in 2015. She took great pride in doing things the right way and earned the respect of everyone who knew her.

She attended St. Margaret's Academy, now Benilde-St. Margaret's School, where the values of faith, perseverance, and service helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Mary Kaye is lovingly survived by her children: Patti (Mike, partner); Bob (Karie); Tim (Gretchen); and Mike (Nicole).

She was a proud grandmother to Mike, Alex, Samantha, Rob, Jack, Megan, Erin, Paige, Frank, Stella, Henry, and Ruby, each of whom she loved beyond measure.

She was also blessed with five cherished great grandchildren: Bradie, Nellie, Jordy, Taylor and Georgia who brought her immense joy.

Mary Kaye's greatest legacy is not found in trophies or accomplishments, but in the love she gave so freely. She taught her family the importance of hard work, loyalty, showing up for one another, and never backing down from a challenge. Her strength, devotion, and unconditional love will continue to guide her family for generations.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing her spirit lives on in every one of her family members, every football Sunday, every family competition and every grandchild she so proudly cheered on.

She was our biggest fan, our fiercest protector, and our greatest blessing.
