Mpls, MN - Mary Baker of Minneapolis, died May 19, 2026 at Mt. Olivet Nursing Home. She was 87 years old.

Mary was born on April 2, 1939 in Minneapolis to Caroline and Robert McCaull, and graduated from Northrop Collegiate School in 1957, and attended the University of Michigan before graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1961.

Her life and work experience was wide-ranging; from broadcaster with NHK Radio in Tokyo, to columnist for the "The Dickinson (South Dakota) Press," to her long time employment at Nicollet Indoor Tennis. She also was a life-long volunteer with various city ministries, taking every opportunity to serve others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother, Donald, and her "talented" Siamese cat, Murray. She is survived by a wide circle of friends and neighbors, all who will deeply miss her love of life and her engaging laugh.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 50th and Knox, Minneapolis, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 1:00pm with a reception following.
