Eagan - age 66, of Eagan, passed away on November 7, 2025.
Born December 10, 1958, in Danville, Pennsylvania. Mark grew up in Shamokin and moved to Minnesota in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. Oldyn and Leona A. Oldyn (née Fetsko).
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kathy); his children, Michael (Mike) and Kristen; and cousins Jim Bonshock and Michael Fetsko.
Mark studied electrical engineering at Penn State University, where he was a proud member of Delta Kappa Phi fraternity. He later took classes at Drexel University and the University of Minnesota, always eager to learn something new.
A partner at Dunham Associates, Mark was passionate about mentoring young engineers and helping others find their footing in the field. He built strong friendships at work and rarely missed a chance to go tailgating and catch a football game and maybe play a harmless prank or two along the way.
Outside of work, Mark was happiest outdoors. Whether it was hiking, camping, skiing, or tending his garden. A black belt in Shorin-Ryu karate, he also loved building computers, tinkering with his yellow Jeep Wrangler, and creating the perfect meal or cocktail. Friends and family will remember him as quick-witted and curious. He was a guy who could fix anything, tell a great story, and make everyone laugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Paul Pool and Yacht Club on Sunday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mark's honor may be made to Mayo Clinic for cancer research at mayoclinic.org. Or checks may be mailed to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 1st St. S.W., Rochester, 55905, or by credit card by calling 1-800-297-1185.
Mark will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his humor, generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
