Mpls - Born June 10, 1929, entered into eternal life on November 26, 2025 at the age of 96. Her mind was sharp and she enjoyed her full life until her final days. She was blessed with a generous spirit and an inquisitive mind throughout her life. Preceded in death by her husband, Peter; parents, Clayton and Olive Matheny, siblings Bob, Arlene and Jack. Survived by sons, Tom (Mary), James (Gaby), John (Ann) and Tim (Gina); her sister, Nancy Abrahamson; grandchildren Ben (Holly), Tony (Set), Peter, Quinn (Brian), Max (Kelly), Zach (Kayla), Kate (Jennifer), Marco, (Alison), Gino, Nico, Anne, Mary Catherine and Dan; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews of the Zappia, Abrahamson and Matheny families, especially, nephew Peter Kish. She raised four sons and somehow found time to work and volunteer at St. Charles. She later worked as an Administrative Assistant at the School of Public Health at the U of M for 15 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her 17 years as a volunteer with Serra of North Minneapolis. She will truly be missed by her family and all of her friends. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Charles Borromeo, 2739 Stinson Pkwy NE, St. Anthony. Visitation from 10:00 AM in the atrium at St Charles.
