Zimmerman - Porupsky, Marijane (née Richards) age 78, of Zimmerman Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, with her beloved husband Jeff by her side. Born August 8, 1946, in Virginia, Minnesota, Marijane graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Class of 1964. She married Jeff Porupsky and together they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage, raising three children - Marc, Andy, and Katie. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Mackenzie, Jack, Ethan, and Karissa. Marijane lived a life full of compassion, creativity, and quiet strength. Her deep faith in God was a guiding force throughout her life and remains a cherished legacy passed down to her children and grandchildren. She worked with Adventures Plus in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for many years, where she nurtured children and built lasting friendships with her coworkers. Marijane was a passionate oil painter and crafter, and her artwork was admired by many. Her creative legacy will live on in the beautiful pieces she leaves behind. Marijane found deep peace at the family's cabin on Tom Lake in Hovland, Minnesota, where she loved the solitude and natural beauty of the North Shore. She was also a devoted dog lover, having shared her life with many cherished canine companions over the years. A proud survivor of breast cancer in her middle years, Marijane faced every challenge with grace and resilience. In her later years, she was a resident at Cedar Creek Senior Living, where she was deeply loved by both staff and family alike. She is survived by her husband Jeff; children Marc (Jennifer), Andy, and Katie (Elton); grandchildren Mackenzie, Jack, Ethan, and Karissa; and sister Beverly Altman. She is preceded in death by her brother Chuck Richards. Visitation from 4:00 -7:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St., Elk River.
