Marguerite A. Ritter Obituary

Ritter, Marguerite A. "Peggy" (nee Rachac) age 101, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully Oct. 15, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, Thomas, and daughter, Anne Roth. Peggy was a woman of multiple interests and talents - a painter, a poet, an elocutionist. Her love of the arts started as a child and continued throughout her life - taking water color lessons in her 50s and acting in a community theater play at the age of 81. Peggy's life centered around family. She was a cherished wife and mother of seven daughters. Later in life she found satisfaction in volunteering with Meals on Wheels, at funeral luncheons, and as a reader at church services. She worked at Lifetouch where she made lifelong friends. She spread her wings but still focused on her family as adults. Peggy was a voracious reader, Scrabble player, crossword puzzle solver, and bridge player. She liked jokes, trivia, and Jeopardy!. Having taken Latin in high school, she was a woman of words and a walking dictionary. Survived by daughters Theresa (Greg) Utecht, Susan, Margie (Ross) Dugas, Martha (Brian Reinert), Mary Jo (Kurt) Roth, Amy; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral mass at 11 AM Wednesday October 30 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington. There will be a visitation at 10 AM, one hour prior to service. Private interment Fort Snelling Cemetery at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Friends of the Hennepin County Library or Bloomington-Eden Prairie Meals on Wheels.
