St. Louis Park - Margaret Marie (formerly Borgendale) Fromm, née Mooney, lovingly known as Peggy, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at age 76. Peggy was born June 21, 1949, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, to Merald and Florence (Hanson) Mooney. She lived a life defined by curiosity, kindness, resilience, humor, and unconditional love. Peggy was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, friend, storyteller, and gentle guide to many. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen and welcomed. Her infectious laugh and enthusiasm for life could brighten any room. Peggy worked in computing at the phone company during an era when few women entered the field. She cared deeply about the environment and believed in leaving the world better than she found it. After suffering a stroke in 2012, Peggy demonstrated extraordinary courage, relearning how to walk, talk, swallow, and read again. She often said, "If I can't travel and go places, I can go there in stories." Stories became both her refuge and her gift to others. She loved nature, birding, music, laughing, glow-in-the-dark anything, and spending time with loved ones. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Tove (Paul) Borgendale; siblings, Susan Botten, Jill (Paul) Coudron, and Timothy Mooney; grandchildren; extended family; and many friends and community members whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fromm; her parents; and brother, David Mooney. Memorial service 2:30pm SUNDAY, June 7 at SHIR TIKVAH, 1360 Minnehaha Pkwy.
