Lakeville, MN - Survived by wife Cheryl Ann Larson, daughters Melissa Anne Harritt (Mark Harritt) and Stephanie Kay Stakston, granddaughters Julianna Noelle Harritt and Gabrielle Marie Harritt.

Born on June 29, 1939, to Alice Sommerness Stakston and Angelo Milo Stakston in Noonan, ND.

Malin graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1957. Attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN graduating with a degree in Biology in 1961.

He enlisted in the army and served in the Army Security Agency from 1961-1963. Had the highest security clearance and translated Russian communications from our military base Menwith Hill in Yorkshire England.

He met his wife of 56 years, Cheryl at Minot State University, Minot, ND. They married on August 26,1967 at First Lutheran Church, Rugby, ND. They moved to Forest Grove, OR, where he attended Pacific University, graduating in 1971 with a doctorate in Optometry. He practiced in Burnsville, MN until he retired in 2004.

He enjoyed traveling, talking with people, playing tennis and pickleball, playing cards and time spent at his lake home on Ottertail Lake.
