Savage - Thirumalai, Dr. M.S. (Tenkasi, India, April 9, 1940) passed peacefully in his daughter's home in Savage, MN on June 18, 2025 at age 85. Thirumalai was a devout Christian, lifelong learner, renowned linguist, founder and editor of international academic journal Language in India, philanthropist, and champion of the marginalized. Thirumalai is survived by his wife, Swarna, his daughter Hoinu (Dave and children, Selvi (Nate), and Anna) and his son John (Vipada) and children Joshua (Steph), Adam, Ashley, and Hope.
