Ainsworth, Louis L. Born in Moline, IL, passed away peacefully at home in St. Louis Park, MN on March 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Louis is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Katherine (Chesley) and Lucy (Alexis); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Blanche, and William, and three siblings. Louis was a proud graduate of Moline High School, Seattle University, and William Mitchell College of Law. He thrived in his years as a corporate lawyer with several law firms in Minneapolis and as General Counsel at Pentair. His tenure as a professor and distinguished practitioner-in-residence for the Center for Law and Business at Mitchell Hamline School of Law highlighted his talent for sharing knowledge and mentoring students. Louis was a true scholar of law, history, and languages and a voracious reader. His travels took him from canoeing the Boundary Waters to corporate negotiations in China to Michelin-starred restaurants in France. He was equally at home at the lake in northern Minnesota as he was driving on the Autobahn. He was a fabulous cook and connoisseur of fine wine. His quick wit and vast knowledge of literature were his calling cards. Louis will be missed by family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis.
